The Bathrooms

The piece was inspired by the countless words written and witnessed in women’s bathrooms - spaces where many feel their freest to speak without fear of being dismissed, doubted, or told they are lying, despite the constant scrutiny women face when speaking out.
It was important for me to create and showcase this work as a form of homage, acknowledging that these seemingly small words carry weight, meaning, and a deeply shared sense of relatability.
Consensual Sex Waiver

I created the Consensual Sex Waiver inspired by the way young girls would fill their workbooks with initials, hearts and imagined futures - the quiet, hopeful scribbles that felt innocent and full of possibility.
The piece plays on that tenderness, confronting it with the heartbreaking reality that 1 in 2 women (53%, or 5 million) have experienced sexual harassment since the age of 15, as reported by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, exposing the stark contrast between youthful idealism and the statistics that shape women’s lives.
